Firefox 18.0 and Thunderbird 17.0.2 are just released - the version numbers change so quickly on these now I can't keep track anymore!

So why do you try? Everybody (that have not gone out of their way to break the browser) are being updated automatically, so it isn't of any benefit. You don't seem to write posts about Chrome updates either.
Because in managed corporate environments, the vendor supplied automatic updates are generally turned off. Updates need to be packaged, tested, and then deployed.
...and 10.0.12! As shipped by RHEL and Debian at least.
