Fortress Information Security is looking for a Security Project Manager to plan, organize, advise, and motivate agile teams to achieve a high-level of performance and quality software products. You will work in a fast-paced environment, in constant communication and coordination with software architects, project leaders, external customers, and senior management to build and deploy world-class information security solutions.
Provide instruction, direction, coordination and training to staff of Security teams (SME’s, Analysts, Jr. Analysts) who are working on “Security” related projects.
Provide security consulting guidance and develop solutions for security challenges
Advise on technical security decisions regarding configuration and settings of security tools according to industry best practices and corporate policies
Lead assigned projects to completion.
Develop individual project plans including budgetary information and resource needs.
Host project meetings (typically weekly) for each project under your direction with external and internal stakeholders.
Refine/update project budget as needed to ensure timeliness and fiscal responsibility.
Coordinate with vendors & suppliers.
Communicate project objectives to all team members involved.
Document methods & procedures (M&Ps) for the successful implementation of “Security
Spot check (Q/A) teams work output
Validate team deliverables.
Monitor and Evaluate risks presented timeline variances.
Work with team and other FIS staff others to define and document new and/or improve M&Ps and processes.
Take/follow instructions from senior managers.
Anticipate, recognize, report, and help resolve issues.
Perform basic project time managerial functions.
Bachelors level in computer and business-related skills.
Hands-on knowledge of Computer Networking, Internet Protocols, communication protocols, data and network security.
Experience in security consulting
Experience in Software and/or product design.
5+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
Ability to complete projects on-time and on-budget.
Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skills.
Bachelor’s, Associates in computer science or Cyber Security/ Information Security or 1-3 years relevant experience
Bachelor’s, Associates, or 2nd in Electronics Technologies, Digital Electronics fundamentals, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering… or 1-3 years relevant experience
CompTIA Security+ (Nice to have) or
Cyber Security Analyst + (CySA+ Nice to have), (in lieu of Sec+) or
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) (Preferred)
GIAC certifications (Preferred)
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification (Nice to have)
Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Project – intermediate skills or more)
Ability to work under demanding deadlines
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Ability to think critically with an attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to be an intellectually curious self-starter, with ample opportunities to explore, research, and develop new and unique solutions.
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI
Experience with database technologies such as SQL or NoSQL
Working knowledge of Internet Protocols, communication protocols, data and network security fundamentals
Intermediate understanding and knowledge of encryption techniques, tools, and best practices
Working knowledge of distributed server secure configurations and benchmarks
Working knowledge of basic Software Architecture design & methodologies
Working knowledge of fundamentals of Electronics Technology design
Experience performing IT risk assessments, including on networking infrastructure
