Scope of Position: Corning has an immediate opening for a motivated SecDevOps Engineer to join Corning's Global Cybersecurity Operations organization. Our goal is to stay ahead of and maintain a technical advantage over our adversaries using the latest technical advancements by providing global capabilities that our Cyber Defenders rely on. While the primary focus for this position is security engineering and software development, you will gain cross-functional experience as you interface directly with our cyber defenders to understand their mission and capabilities. As a key part of this team, your responsibilities will include all aspects of the software, systems, and platform development lifecycle, including work estimation, design, deployment, sustainment, automation, and coding within an Agile and Continuous Delivery model. In this position, you will have opportunities to develop custom solutions using modern technologies and will be challenged and provided a tremendous opportunity for growth in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission focused software utilizing modern software languages and tools
Build and sustain network and server environments, installing, configuring, and tuning hardware and software during setup and maintenance of these systems
Work independently on complex projects/assignment, and assist other technical staff as necessary
Develop and Document Processes and Procedures for custom capabilities
Support creation and maintenance of all relevant documentation for design, development, and testing
Develop maintainable code that matches specification, and perform unit testing of code, including manipulation of data for analysis of system requirements
Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
Provide on-call support for incident response efforts outside of core hours as needed.

Education and Experience: 4+ years of SecDevOps or related experience

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience as a systems developer - Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
Familiarity with common Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
Experience with Container and Pipeline tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Programming skills in several programming and markup languages, such as Python, Bash, C++/Rust, JSON/XML, etc.
Familiarity with DevOps tools, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles
Must have knowledge of Source Code Management concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, interpersonal and team participation
Problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
Demonstrate poise and ability to act calmly and competently to technical and non-technical challenges
Must have strong interpersonal and networking skills

Preferred Skills:

Expertise with Machine Learning/AI
Expertise with cloud security, such as Amazon AWS or Azure
Experience in RDBMS
Experience in ElasticSearch
Experience with SIEM solutions (Splunk)
Previous experience in a cybersecurity-oriented role (threat analyst, incident responder)

Travel Requirement: Up to 10%
