What we need…
COCC is looking for a Security Engineer II to help the Security Architecture & Engineering team develop network security solutions and solve complex problems. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, communicative, inquisitive, curious, and have a thirst for knowledge. Unincumbered by failure or complexity, you will dig into new technologies without fret, learning what you need to be successful as-needed/required. Ideally, you will possess industry-specific security certifications with experience in a fast-paced enterprise environment that has a strong focus on security principles. Working with little supervision, you must know when to make judgement calls and when to ask for help.

What you’ll do…
COCC Security Engineers design, support, analyze, and maintain COCC’s corporate security infrastructure. Platforms include remote access, network firewalls, next-gen firewalls, web application firewalls, IDS & IPS, MFA, PKI, and Internet access protections such as web filtering and IP reputation services. Some security assistance with web hosting (server), DNS, and email (server) may be required on an as-needed basis. You will assist with requests for service installations and service configuration changes & project implementations. These services and projects are requested by the business as well as internal to the Security Architecture & Engineering team and can consist of new vendor onboarding, network security changes, security enhancements, threat mitigation, and/or solving sometimes complex "problems of the day". You must have a comfort level working with a diverse set of individuals and backgrounds. Our team is responsible for maintaining security infrastructure including upgrades and patches, which includes a low-volume on-call rotation with some weekend work required quarterly.
What you’ll bring…
Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role but will consider appropriate work experience and/or relevant certifications.
5-7 years experience supporting & designing security-oriented services leveraging firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, and other threat mitigation technologies.
Security certifications (SANS, ISC2, CompTIA, etc.)
Salary range for this role is $105000-135000/annually
