You need to download two zip files:
http://www.dshield.org/clients/cvtwinupdatesys.zip (Runtime files)
http://www.dshield.org/clients/cvtwin-update.zip (Program files)
Create two separate temporary directories and unzip one of the zip files in each directory.
Change to the directory that you unzipped cvtwinupdatesys.zip in. This zip file contains the runtime files that do not change. The first step is that you need to copy these files to your Windows System directory.
C:\Windows\System Windows 9X, ME
C:\Winnt\System32 Windows NT, 2000
C:\Windows\System32 Windows XP, Vista
Important! First find these files in your Windows System directory (if they exist) and copy any existing ones to a safe place, so that you can restore them if needed.
It is probably safest if you do a reboot and then do this procedure before running any other programs. To reduce the odds of fighting with OCXs that are already running in memory....
These files probably don't exist in C:\Windows\System32. If they don't, then copy them there. But check first! Don't copy old files on top of newer files.

03/09/2004 12:00 AM 132,880 MSINET.OCX

03/09/2004 12:00 AM 212,240 richtx32.ocx
If these files didn't already exist in C:\Windows\System32 and you copied them there, then you will need to "register" them with Windows. From an MS/DOS prompt that is run as Administrator (if needed) do
regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx
regsvr32 msinet.ocx
regsvr32 mswinsock32.ocx
regsvr32 richtx32.ocx
Only do regsvr32 if a file wasn't already in C:\Windows\System32. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/146219
These files are probably already installed in C:\Windows\System32.

06/01/1999 12:00 AM 101,888 VB6STKIT.DLL
You must check each file and only copy it to the Windows System directory 1., if it doesn't already exist there, and 2., if it exists and is older than the file you are copying. DO NOT COPY OLD FILES ON TOP OF NEWER FILES!
Then, after copying the runtime files, you need to install the program files. Create a 2nd temporary directory and unzip cvtwin-update.zip and install them by creating C:\Program Files\cvtwin and copying the update files to this directory.
Create a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Cvtwin\cvtwin.exe
UNINSTALLING
If you installed CVTWIN this manual way, you can just delete the C:\Program Files\CVTWIN directory, because CVTWIN doesn't make any changes to the registry.
If you installed using the cvtwin-setup.exe program, then use "Control Panal/Add/Remove Programs" to uninstall CVTWIN. (cvtwin-setup.exe is the only program that writes anything to the registry, and all it writes is install information so that "Add/Remove Programs" will work.)
Done.
